DIY vs. Contractor - Interior Doors
I want to replace 7 interior doors and the casings. I know we could do it ourselves but we're kind of worn out on home improvement projects. We've been slowly updating a 40 year old house that hasn't been improved before we bought it. We've attempted to just replace a couple of the doors but we don't really have the tools or expertise to make the knob and latch all line up with the existing jamb.
We live in Silver Spring, MD. Can anyone out there give me a rough estimate of what it would cost to hire someone to replace the doors so I have an idea before calling contractors? I don't care how they do it, pre-hung or just doors, since I'm replacing the casing anyway.
Thanks for any help.

Interior doors
Labor and materials tend to vary from area to area. Get bids from several contractors. Make sure who you select is licensed and insured. Get a copy of their contractor's license and copies of worker's compensation and liability insurance certificates. Call the agencies to confirm that these are current. Your homeowner's insurance will not cover a contractor who is injured on your property. And, in case he damages your property, he needs liability insurance.

Recent Quote
Hi:
We recently got the following quote from http://www.interiordoor.com:
Each door is $115 (will install door in existing door jamb)
Additional charges are: Painting - $50 per door (which is totally ridiculous!!)
If you like your existing hardware, they will install it in the new door for free. Else they charge $7 per door to install your new hardware for you.
All in all, it seemed reasonable for interior doors. They wanted the same price for closet doors
But my dad and I replaced 8 by-pass closet doors for cost of materials ($40 per door at HD + $35 paint) in about 1.5 days.
Hope this helps.
