Closet Door Hinge Troubles
Hello. My closet bifold doors will not close all the way, but enough to cover the opening. This happens becuase there is a lot of paint buildup between where the doors close. I bought a new track kit and it came with new hinges. So I wanted to install those hinges to better increase the gap between the doors by an eighth of an inch, but my closet doors are kind of a hollow metal material, from inside the closet you can see the insides of the door. I was wondering how I would screw new hinges in a thin metal?? It is not like hollow wood doors. By the way the hinges now are welded onto the door. Maybe there is something that can sandwich the screw to the door....like back clips?

Well, I kind of wanted to keep the color of these doors to match the paint of the room..as there ANY way to secure hinges to this type of door without welding them to the door?

Pop-rivets are available in a number of different metals for applications.
Stop by your local hardware store and purchase a pop-rivet kit, it should come with several sizes of rivets. If they are not steel or are not the correct size to fit the holes in the hinges, by them seperatly, also the specific drill bit for the size of rivets.
