Octogon Window Hardware

I have a split entry home that has one of those small octogon windows above the entry. I am looking for a latch of some sort to be able to pull and lock the window tighter to its seal. Presently the window is just held against the seal with spring force but I have noticed it is not quite tight against the seal. A regual window sash lock will not work because of the design of the window. I have looked around and cannot seem to find anything. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

how new is this window, and wood or vinyl window.

Octagonal Window

Yes it is operable. Yes leaking air around seal. That is why I want to pull it tighter to the closed position. Window is 13 years old and made out of wood. No I do not know the brand. Thanks.

Hate to pass the buck, but since I don't know the brand, and there are tons of them. Try going to C R Laurence. Most glass shops use them for many things like this.

Sounds like you need to beef up your worn out weatherstripping or order a new spring tensioner or find some way to lock your window (as you stated).

Maybe the glass shop in your area would know what type of windows you have and just be able to order what you need, if not C R Laurence is the next best place to look. Be warned, this book is huge and may take some time going through it.

Octagonal Window Latch

What would the brand matter anyway...I look on-line and none of them have any kind of latch hardware on them whatsoever. I'm just looking for something generic. Thanks again.

Because knowing the brand or manufacture of the window, you could call them and order the worn out parts " like you have now "
