Tubular Skylight

Tubular Skylight
Looking to add a 10 inch tubular skylight to our very small bathroom, becuase the only window in there will be closed off once we add on our new family room. Everyone who sells these claim to the the best. But I wonder if they all reflect light the same. Velux sells a 10 inch at home depot, for a reasonable price about $150.00. But I have also read about OBL, Sun-tek, and a few others. Anyone have any thoughts or experince they would like to share? Please let me know.
thanks much

I've installed the 14" velux with the flexible tube. I was really impressed with how strong (and large) the flange is.
YMMV, but it's an easy DIY if you've got roofing experience.
But before you buy one, check with your local building inspector about the bathroom window requirement--typically, a bathroom has to have either a window that opens or an exhaust fan. If you don't already have an exhaust fan, I believe you can buy an add-on kit for the tube skylight that includes a fan kit.
