Can the Interior Wood on a Pella door be repaired?
Our babysitter allowed our dog to chew on our Pella patio door that is clad on the outside but wood on the inside. There are chunks of wood that are missing from one panel of wood along with alot of deep bite marks. Is this something that can be repaired or will we need to replace the entire door? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

hi
you could used some wood filler to patch it up and stain it and then used polyhurathane over it.
Ps get rid of dog.
Cheers

LOL, i agree w/ pgtek. It ain't the babysitter's fault, get rid of the dog!
The wood filler is a good idea, if it's a big area and needs a lot of filler, you can buy it in a small tub. Goop it on, sand it flat with a belt sander- it might need more than 1 coat of filler if the gouges are deep. And the filler never stains up like your real wood, so be prepared to try and match several different kinds of stain to get it close to the same color as your door.
You will always be able to see the marks, it will certainly never look like new again. But to others who don't know about the bite marks, it will be much less obvious, and they probably won't even notice them.
