Question Installing doors on un-level surface.

I am going to be installing a double set of sliding doors on a cement slab that is not level. There is about a 1-1/4" fall from house to end of slab (about 12'). The doors are 11'6". I'm considering using a self leveling cement just in the footprint of the doors. Any comments or other suggestions?

Thats an excellent idea and will provide you with continuous level support under the entire door threshold. If I had to do it, I'd probably use mortar mix and a bonding agent.

1 1/4" is a lot! If you end up doing that, what will be happening to the floor inside? Will it also need to be leveled up? That would be something to discuss with the homeowner / general contractor.

Thanks for the advise.

Thanks, I'll do just that. I discussed the inside with the homeowner and he plans to carpet over the cememnt. So I'll probably create some sort of theshhold that will compensate for the difference beteween the floor and the door sill.
