When do I hang these doors?
I have 3 entry doors that I'm replacing in rooms where I'm also adding laminate wood flooring. I'm also replacing paneling with sheetrock, painting, and replacing trim work/moulding. Should I wait til after the flooring is completed for replacing the doors? I thought I had seen somewhere that it's better to have the flooring down first so that you get an accurate reading of door height. I was just wondering, because with all the painting and trim work it would seem easier to go ahead and replace the doors before I begin painting.

Entry doors would be installed first, since they are exterior doors.
Interior doors can either be installed first (but then will need to be undercut) or they can be shimmed up with a piece of flooring, installed, then the shim can be removed so the flooring will fit underneath. Or you can install the floor, and then set the door jamb on top of the floor. The jamb legs must sit level, however, so if you do the door last, you may end up cutting one leg a bit shorter than the other.
You also need to think about what sort of gap you want under the door once the door is installed. Sometimes setting the door on top of the floor without cutting anything off will produce a bigger gap under the door than people like to see.

Thanks, I'm just trying to get this whole process sorted out. We are replacing carpeted floors in the living room, kitchen, and dining room with laminate. Also replacing all exterior and interior doors. Taking down paneling in Kitchen and Living room, replacing it with drywall as well as covering the current ceiling with new drywall. New molding and a new paint job to top it off!
I don't want to order or purchase the materials until I need them...interest on construction loan type deal...so I just wanted to know the ideal time to get the pre-hung doors and install them since I know that the flooring will be the last thing that I do.
