Replace glass in NEW entry door - how hard?
I've been searching for a new entry door for my house. As far as the door itself goes, I don't want anything fancy--probably textured fiberglass with 1/2 or 3/4 glass.
I don't like most of the glass options though. I'm thinking of taking out the glass and having something custom made. My question is: how difficult is it to take the glass out of a typical door? Is it as easy as unscrewing the interior side frame and pulling it out, or are newer doors typically built in a way that doesn't make it possible to get the glass out?
I'm hand-making the transom for over the door, so I might as well design both the transom and door glass myself--I just want to make sure I can replace the door glass. I realize that this may be a tough question to answer, considering all of the different manufacturers and door styles. I guess I'm hoping that somebody has attempted something like this.
Thanks,
Brian

hi depending on type of door.
I steel, you can unscrew the frame from the inside and replace the thermal glass.
