Options for interior hollow core door?

My bathroom door is structurally sound, but the oak finish wallpaper is peeling off. Underneath the paper is the cheap and ugly particle board type wood. Is it possilbe to refinish this or should I replace the door altogether? The trim is looking bad as well. So I will be replacing that. What options do I have for this mishapen door?

Thanks in advance.

A new door is $35. Buy one that does not have hinges and door knob precut. Scribe the hinge locations off the old door, set side by side and mark them. It's a simple job for a diy'er.

Agreed, door slabs are dirt cheap.

If your are replacing the trim, might as well get a prehung unit and install that(if the trim matches what you already have.) 75 bucks will get you a new prehung unit.

But while you are at it go through and upgrade all the doors in your house with solid 6 panel doors. Then replace the cheap trim you have in there as well. Might as well put in hard wood floors while you are at it too.

Kidding with that last paragraph, kinda.
Sometimes once you start its hard to stop.

This would be the time to plan ahead. If you buy the popular 6 panel door, you can eventually replace them all. It really updates a house.

And you can be sure all your door knobs will be mounted at the same height. Often, older doors have different knob heights.
