My bathroom door is structurally sound, but the oak finish wallpaper is peeling off. Underneath the paper is the cheap and ugly particle board type wood. Is it possilbe to refinish this or should I replace the door altogether? The trim is looking bad as well. So I will be replacing that. What options do I have for this mishapen door? Hi - In the basement room that I am finishing, there is an existing interior door that was hung and trimmed during the construction. I removed the existing trim and wood spacers that had been installed and put up my 5/8" sheet of drywall. The problem is that, the door seems to have been set up to accept 1/2" drywall - so I'm going to have a gap between the door frame and the piece of trim that I'll be installing. :wall: I'm sure that I can just caulk the gap and it will look decent/ok - but I was wondering if there were any alternatives to caulking that might work better?
