table saw as a miter saw??
Hi,
I'd like to buy a power saw for putting all new baseboard & window trim. Obviously a power miter saw is the first choice, but, I wouldn't really use it after I have all the trim up. I was thinking if I could buy a table saw & use it as a miter saw, then have a table saw to use for various applications down the road. Is that possible? Or is it stupid. Be honest.
Thanks!

I wouldn't use a table saw as a miter saw. I kind of enjoy still having all of my fingers after working with power tools all these years. There is no substitute for the right tool.
Either rent a miter saw or buy a miter box, If your not doing anything too fancy, you can get a cheapo miter saw for less than 100 dollars or cheaper if you can find a second hand one.

Miter Saw Gets More Use Than Table Saw
Why do you think you'd get more use out of a table saw than a miter saw? I've got both and use my miter saw MUCH more frequently than my table saw. At least in my experience you do more cross cutting than rip cutting in do-it-yourself jobs around the house. Just my 2 cents.
Personally, I think a circular saw would be better for doing a small number of simple miter cuts than a table saw. Either that or get a miter box and a handsaw.
