Rain blows in between french doors

We typically only use door -- the other is stays shut by locking the astragal (?) to the header and threshold. Rain blows in between the door we use and the astragal. Anyone know how to seal that gap?

Is there a wedge shaped foam pad installed at the bottom of the astragal, where the astragal meets the threshold? There should be.

When you close the door and the door is 1/8" from hitting the latch, is the "reveal" from top to bottom straight? If the gap is wider on top or bottom, the sides of your door are not in the same plane, and your door is not sealing evenly against the weatherstrip.

If you have an adjustable threshold, you can adjust the screws to make the seal tighter along the bottom of the door, if need be.

I don't have the wedge-shaped pad. The door installers put about 1/8" felt pad there, which doesn't work. I've raised the threshold to keep the seal along the bottom of the door. Where can I get the wedge-shape pad?

anyplace that sells doors ought to be able to give you one. Be sure you place the thick side of the tapered foam pad behind the bulb weatherstrip (toward the exterior) with the bottom edge down tight against the threshold. The thin side of the wedge shaped pad points toward the interior.
