removing key cylinder from security door mechanism

I am attempting to replace a security screen door lock - we just bought the house and the lock is minus the key - I have progressed to dismantling except I can't get the key lock (cylinder) out because I don't have a key to line up the cam - any helpful suggestions please? Regards Lindsay

is it a cheap storm door (like the grey/silver aluminum) ones or a nice storm door (Pella/Larson/Anderson?) If the nicer ones, there will be one screw on inside of door that holds lock in, remove screw and slide lock out or you can just buy new handle set for the cheaper doors.Lowes and HomeDepot sell them.Either way, locks can esily be changed without the key
