Unhappy Can't find patio doors in my size easily.

I came across a nice steel french patio door with internal mini-blinds at home depot today for only $488. I can't link to it because of the way Home Depots website is set up. It's a Masonite Endurance Steel french patio door 72x80. SKU # 765193 but when I search for the SKU, it sdoesn't show up either. I can only find it if I browse for patio doors in my local store (zip 48114 Brighton)

Problem is, my existing doors measure only 64" in width excluding frame Oor 32" per door), so it seems that I have a custom door size.

1) Any recommendations of places around the metro Detroit area (my zip is 48114, Brighton) that has custom door sizes?

2) Will I be paying a premium for the custom door size? What do you think would be a reasonable price for this type of door.

3) How much is a typical door installation?

Thanks

Where are you taking your meaurement from? When I measure for patio door, entry door, etc...I take and measure jamb to jamb then add 1 1/2" to the width to allow for the 3/4" jambs on both sides, then add anywhere from 1 1/2"- 2 1/2" to the height depening on existing door sill.

Be sure your measuring correctly first and foremost before you get stuck with a door then requires a ton of material/labor to fit width and height.

I'm a millwork specialist for Home Depot. Try going in and let them try to see if they can get the size for you from Masonite. We all us the same system, so, if I can remember, I will try to see if it is offered when I work on Monday
