Tinting windows vs by tinted windows
#1

I just built a new home, and have a family room with a vaulted ceiling. We have two french doors (one on each side of our chimney). Above each of them is a triangle shaped window. On the floor level, on each outter side of the french doors, are two sets of windows, about 12 feet high.
When the sun gets on that side of the house....I feel like we are living in a green house! The central air just runs....
I feel that we should tint those triangled shaped windows at the exterior end of the family room....or, replace them with tinted windows.
Is there anyone who has had their windows tinted with a film, that might be able to give me their opinion on how they like the end appearance of the film? Or is just paying the extra money, and purchasing tinted windows more the ways to go?
Or is there still another way I can stop this green house effect!?
