How to Refinish door hardware?

I purchased an old wood entry door from a salvage yard and had it refinished. I'm preparing to replace the glass. The original glass was 1/8 inch standard glass--nothing special about it. I plan for the replacement to be double-pane low-e tempered glass. It'll finish out at about 1/2 inch thick--I've already checked the door and it'll accomodate the extra thickness. Before I order the glass, is there anything special I should know--a particular way to install that'll affect the overall size for example? Should there be any type of 'padding' where the glass meets the wood--foam or caulking or something? I look forward to your responses. Thanks, Brian

If a newly hung entry door is sticking out, not plumb with the top jamb, is there a way to adjust the hinge(s) to bring it back in to plumb? I know you can adjust the hinges to move the door to increase/decrease the gap between the the door and the strike side jamb so I am curious if the the door can be pivoted(?) in or out. THANKS.
