What do you do when a customer does not wan't to pay final paymen't?

I was in Home Depot and heard a couple of contractors talking and it peaked my curiousity. Legally.

go over the contract. if everything's up to snuff and he still doesn't want to pay out, sue him. as long as you've got a contract, there's nothing he can do.

Depending on how much is owed makes the decision different. Small claims court usually only deals with things up to a certain amount of money. They also could put a lien on the house, etc.
