Door jam kind of cracked...can it be repaired?

Can this door jam be repaired without replacing that part (or the whole) of the door frame?

If it can be repaired to a usable/functional state, how?

Thanks!

You can probably salvage the existing frame . . . describe the damage (size, location, etc) and the frame (stain, paint, age) and I might have a tip or two.

Thank you for the reply, but I got impatient and went ahead on my own. I glued it back into form with wood glue & a clamp, filled in the missing pieces/spaces with some wood putty, planed it, sanded it, routed out a larger area for a bigger strikeplate that basically covers the whole mess, repainted it with some color-matched paint, and threw on the above-mentioned larger strikeplate. But for a small bit of wood putty I forgot to paint, you can't really tell anything happened to it, and frankly, the larger strikeplate & screws have made it sturdier than it ever was. I can post a picture of the finished product, but I doubt anyone is really that interested.

Outstandng!
Sounds like you did exactly what I would have done for my own door! Glad it worked out, if you have before/after shots, like to see them.
Thanks for the response-
Alan

The only "before" shot I have is the one that is linked to in my original post, which, other than not showing depth very well, gives a pretty good view of the damage. I snapped a few "after" pictures and will post them soon.
