New wood floor hits front door

Hi. I just had a new wood floor installed and front door hits the floor. The new floor sits about a 1/4" above the metal door jam. I cut the bottom of the door down so that I could secure the house, but now there is a gap between the bottom of the door and the jam that lets in a ton of wind. Can I rase the jam, or is there some sort of wood spacer that can make-up the space between the bottem of the door and the jam? The door is metal with a foam core and the jam is metal. Thanks

I would want my jam to be level with, or slightly above the new floor.

The last metal door jam I "played with" would work like this in your situation. Remove the door jam. Shim it to the desired height with solid wood stock (sealed oak, etc.) and reinstall.

Another option is to purchase an adjustable door jam of the proper height and install it.
