Screen Door Help

Hi,

I'm in a new house and trying to take care of the easier maintenance stuff myself, but I admit that I know almost nothing! I"m sure willing to learn though!!

So, my screen door (that what we call them where I grew up does not fit into the door jam correctly b/c the screws keep popping out of the top hinge. I've tried putting them back in and they pop right back out. Its metal, I can't buy much longer screws or they will break through the other side. So, is there anything I can do besides buy a new door?

Thanks for you help!

Teri

If the screws go into metal, all you need is the next # sheet metal screw. A longer screw is of no use. If you have a #8 use a #10 etc. If you are not sure, bring a sample with you.

In addition, old screw holes can be filled with wood dowel and glue to give the new, longer screw more grab.
