How to figure out who made my windows?
Ok I'm trying to buy a 2 storm windows for my house but I don't know who made my windows. This is actually for my sons science project who wants to test different insulating methods. I don't know who made the windows though. I can't find any marks or writing on the windows or frame. I might have missed it if they hide these things somewhere. The top of the window doesn't open just the bottom and the bottom flips in for cleaning. The windows are aluminum and were the original windows that came with the house. I'm not the original owner though. Any help would be great. My son already got his science project approved and I know my windows are designed to have storm windows that you can put in them on the inside. Thanks for any help.

If your windows have double-pane glass, sometimes you can find the manufacturer's name in *very tiny* print on the aluminum spacer that is between the two pieces of glass. You could also look for any writing on the lock mechanism, or on a sticker inside the top of the window frame. If all else fails, you could take some pictures of the windows, post them on a file sharing page, and post a link to the pictures so that someone here could take a look.

I might have to take the pictures and try that. They are single pain glass so that ideas out. The locking mechanism is just a latch at the bottom with nothing on it and no stickers. They are some kind of "builders special" windows. I live in a townhouse and I know they cut corners where they can. The pictures might have to be done but that'll have to wait till tomorrow. Thanks and any other ideas would be great too.
