Window question
I have an older house we are refinishing. We are just taking our time through the process. The former owners put in replacement windows, but did not bother to caulk the windows. I have visible gaps, relatively small but visible, between the window and the wood interior trim. I want to make this visually more attractive. Suggestions for caulking? Brand? Techniques?

For interior caulking jobs, most latex caulks should do the trick. I like the brands that have a extra long tip. It makes it easier to watch where the caulk is being applied, and can be cut to put a very thin bead down. Unfortunately the best teqnique is practice, practice, practice. Try to keep steady pressure on the handle and go at a steady pace. You can use masking tape on either side of the gap you are filling. Then if it is not looking exactly the way you want it, wet your finger and smooth it out. Finally pull back the tape to reveal a nice straight bead. Hope this helps and Good Luck.

Never thought about the masking tape. That should help a ton. I was afraid the rest of it would be what you say - practice. A novice at this particular skill, it happens to be one thing I really am lacking.
