We have a pocket sliding door between the master bedroom and its bath. There are a couple of problems with this door: 1. It doesn't completely close. I cannot tell if the door is warped or the molding is not straight. But, I think there is enough room to adjust the upper track to make it fit. Does anyone know to move the track? 2. There is a strike line in the middle of the door on one side. It is caused the door moving against a pinched metal piece near the opening of the pocket. How can I take the door out of the track and the pocket to fix it? Does anyone have a drawing of the design of a common pocket sliding door? I am wondering what that metal piece is for? I have tried to left up the door without success. I did not use any devices, since I think I should be able to lift up a door with a solid core. Is it supposed to be dismounted that way? Thanks.

I have a very old house and the window moldings/trim are chipped, gouged and very uneven. In some spots they are sunk in the wall (lathe and plaster) and sticking out in other places. They are an eyesore and full window treatments have to be used in order to cover them up. It would be very costly to hire someone to remove and put in new. Stripping the paint and sanding is out of the question as there are layers and layers of paint on them and they are pieced together with junk wood. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can cover them up so they do not have to be hid by curtains anymore. Thanks....
