Door hinge comes out of frame...
We have 2 interior doors where the door hinges keep coming out of the door frame, like the holes are "stripped" and the screws are coming out.
I have used "plastic wood" per Home Depot's recommendation, but it just doesn't seem to last more than about 6 months or so.
I was at HD yesterday and while I was there, I bought some screws about 1/2 longer than what are currently in use hoping there is some good wood deeper into the frame.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks...
Chuck

1/2" longer may not be enough. Push a thin nail or wire into the hoile until you feel something solid and then use a screw that is at least 1" longer than that.

Chuck: another way is to sacrifice a couple of golf tees, dip the narrow end in glue and drive it into the enlarged holes. Allow it to dry, cut off the protruding part of the tee, and install new screws. Good luck, and post back if we can help more.

I have used toothpicks to do the same thing. Was a temp fix, because they worked their way loose and came out again...
Thanks though...
