new metal exterior door

I'm about to replace my existing metal door with a new one. The old door measures 35.5" x 79.25" - is this a standard 36x80 door or will I have to cut down the new door? If I have to cut it, what's the easiest way?

thx

What is the measurement inside the door frame on the hinge side from the top where the door hits to the threshold. Some manufacturers use larger weather stripping at the bottom and that takes up space. Have you considered replacing the door and frame as a unit? It it a possibility, you sure would be better off, since all the components will match. It is not that difficult, and if you decide to do it, post back and we'll walk through it.

You have a 3068 door. Replace it with a prehung 3068 metal door.

You asked "what's the easiest way?" -- That's it.
