hanging blinds...
So we just bought our first house and it is my task to hang the horizontal blinds.
I don't think I've ever started a project so difficult and annoying, yet so seeminly simple. (My hat off to the professionals).
I have tried screwing (manually) the outter brackets into the window trim (wooden). The screw goes to a certain point, then just turns and turns, and doesn't do much more.
I can't seem to get this to work. I was wondering if there were any pointers you guys could suggest as I have to try this again soon.
We're young, and can't really afford $1000 to have a pro come in and do it...

Are you talking about hanging 'mini-blinds'?
Regardless.....lets get to the part about the spinning screws. Just what do YOU think is happening? If you are into wood and using full threaded screws...not the ones that have a shank first and then the threads only, that are out by the ends, I can't see that if you drilled your holes a little undersized, why they should just spin at the end.
Are you surface mouting these onto the window casing or are you mounting them inside, screwed up to the top jamb of the window?
