estimate opinion

Was planning on installing sliders out to my patio but realized it's a little too complicated for my skills. There are currently 9' wide windows (height is ok) there that will be removed and replaced with a 9' 3-piece door. The guy quoted me about $3500 which includes door and all removal/installation. That sound high or is that about right? Thanks for the help

I would research the type door you want and determine the cost of the door. The triple opening doors are considerably more expensive than regular 72" sliders due to their mechanics and weight. Here in the poor South, the going rate to remove window units of the same measurement and install doors will run about $450 in labor. Tack on another $100 if there is wiring under the windows that will have to be relocated, and I guarantee there will be. The rest is door cost. I definitely would get quotes from others, and research the doors you want before making a decision.
