Installing Interior French Doors - Help!

I purchased 60" interior french doors from Home Depot and I am having a tough time getting them installed propely. The door is level, the casing is plum and the overall door is square (measure on the diaganol). The doors however will not shut properly. One door butts into the another, when closing.

Not sure how to get the doors aligned properly. Can anyone provide any help?

Thank you,
Doug

When that occurs, it's usually because the weight of the door and glass is pulling the hinges which bows the frame slightly in that location. It usually helps if you remove one of the short hinge screws (from the top hinge) and replace it with a long 3" screw that will go back into the studs. Be careful not to overtighten it, or it will make the gap between your doors too large.

Another trick is to insert shims between and around the doors to maintain the proper spacing, and THEN shim the frame into the opening and nail it in place.
