Old Windows

Ok, we are painting our house on the exterior. We have a historical home and we have found some of the windows have hooks that keep the screens on. The hooks to the house are a u shape and the screens have open hooks that attach with eye hooks that attach inside to hold secure. These hooks are what I am looking for, we are missing some. We have gone to a couple of stores and of course no one carries them and just say replace the windows.

We like to keep the historical look and keep them. Any suggesions of where I can get any of these hooks?

Help, Thxs.

Welcome to the forums

I know what type of hooks you are looking for but don't know where you would go to replace them. You might try some older hardware stores.

Did a search for 'antigue hardware'. Might want to try it. I think one was Hippo Hardware. Try different terms: reproduction hardware, reproduction windows, etc. Good luck.
