find hanging screening?

Is anyone familiar with where and how to install what I can only describe to be like the vertical plastic strips that you see them use in cooler rooms (in liquor stores or butcher shops)
This material is made from soft screen strips and you can go in and out without having it on a slider. I have a dog and he'll just crash through a screen door. With all the mosquitoes I need some kind of barrier to cover my door just letting him in & out at night.
Any ideas? I've seen them in apartment building balconies so I know they make them somewhere...
thanks,
deb

You mean a doggie door? Or...Doggie screen door? If you do a quick google search for doggie door...you'll find all sorts of thing.

Try to find an industrial supply online. I installed some in a commercial application once, but the customer ordered them and had them onsite for me. They are not difficult to install but are quite heavy.

I doubt if the screen strips are "mosquito proof". What you need is a sliding screen door with a pet door as DIYaddict has mentioned. They are custom made by many local glass shops.

Doggie door won't work

Hi,
My dog's HUGE and I don't know if I can even add on tracking for sliders. The doorway I have has those double doors with the blinds in between that go up & down...not sure how it'd look with screening on both sides (kind of defeats the purpose of the clear glass). The strip way I could confine it to the "open" door side and then remove the strips in the winter.
I know they won't be perfect for bugs- but better than what I've got now (which is NOTHING)
I'll check out commercial websites... any suggestions?
thank you
deb

Thanks- found a website and ordered them!

I found online what hopefully isn't terribly heavy screen strips- from their ad it looks like these were shown on HGTV and come in #4 8 or 10" strips (even in different colors) I picked gray which should work out OK for me and the dog.
Cost was $59 plus shipping. Not too bad.
Screening can be removed seasonally and hanging hardware left on year round.
thanks guys!

Thumbs up Screening Website

I found them on "Doublevisions.com" ~ they had other options also but this type was all that would work for French doors.
Hope that helps (I don't know how to "embed" the website in my thread... sorry.

Not bad.....like you said, "it's better than nothing". Most flying insects with not fly in and your dog can go through,
