adjusting sticky doors

this summer, either from the heat or from my home shifting, 2 of my interior doors are rubbing against the door frames (sticky).

to correct this, do i sand down the top of the door or is there a better way?

thank you.

One trick you could try is to remove one screw from each of your hinges (one of the screws closest to the door stop- the trim that the door closes against) and replace the short screws with a long 2 1/2" or 3" screw that will go into the framing. What this will often do is pull the jamb a little bit tighter to the framing and widen your opening just a tad. It's often all that is needed to make a door stop sticking.
