Replacing screens in double-hung aluminum windows

My porch has double hung aluminum windows. I want to replace screend and clean tracks for easier use, but cannot figure out how to get either the screen or the glass panels out. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Edibob, welcome to the forums! Are the screens half screens or full screens? Do the lower units tilt?

These windows are double hung, and the screen is a half screen. They don't tilt. These are pretty old.

I have found a way to remove the bottom track(s) (all the tracks are one piece) which allows me to remove the side tracks and then the windows, screens, will slide out. Not sure if this is the kosher way to do it, as it is sort of a pain, but I could find no other easier way. Thanks.

Sounds like you have some pretty old storm windows. What you did is the only way to remove them. The screens will have to be rescreened since there is no way of getting new screens that will fit those windows.
