I think my sliding double pane patio door has lost the gas seal between the two sashes. Is it posible to recharge, and can it be done in place?
Thanks

If your patio door glass is fogged the only thing to do is have the panel replaced. I had one done for $245 and it was done in 15 minutes including removing the door, cleaning tracks and adjusting the door.
If you can put up with the appearance, you can let it go. (I have one window fogged and have no plans to ever fix it because I never look out of it). The extra amount of energy lost through the window is so small, you cannot justify replacing the panel unless you plan to be there for for a long, long time - you lose more around the door than you lose through the glass if you have curtains or blinds.

If the seal has failed, the only option is to replace the IG (glass) unit. There is simply no way that you are going to repair it yourself. Call a glass shop. Sliders are standard sizes, and $250 or so isn't that bad. The other option would be to replace the ENTIRE slider -- now you're looking at $1K!!!
