door for laundry area

HI,
my washer and dryer are in a little nook in my kitchen and I would like to cover/hide them behind a door. Any recommendations that would help diminish the noise level any? It would have to be an accordion type or sliding door.
thanks,
C

YOu have your choices, either bypass sliding doors, the accordian type, bifold, or pocket doors (with substantial remodeling or adjacent walls). Bypass only allow access to one machine at a time, but open fully to expose that unit. Accordian give a little more insulation value, but don't open quite fully enough on the gathering end to access the unit behind it. Bifold doors sometimes don't open sufficiently to access front loaders. Pocket doors are ideal, but require alot of remodeling.
