Replacing Picture Window
we are replacing our old single-pane picture window with a new Anderson Bay window. Two contractors came and gave us prices of around $2000.00 to do the install- start to finish which they stated would take about 2 days....
Is this reasonable??

That still sounds like a good deal. 2 men, 2 days, $2000 would be about $50/hr... about right for labor in most areas. If they are including all the materials you need it's an even better deal.
I'm assuming that they will not be staining or finishing the trim for you? If not, suggest that they tape up some wax paper onto the wall before the trim goes on so as to make it easier for you to finish without making a mess.
If you sign a contract with them, be sure to specify exactly what that price includes (materials, etc) along with anything that is not included. For instance: labor and materials, all inclusive, no work left for homeowner to complete. Removal of all debris included.
It would also be wise to get their guarantee in writing, stating that they will stand behind any problems for X amount of months/years. Anybody can install a window... but the ones who know what they are doing will always stand behind their work. Don't want to scare you or anything, but imagine what would happen if you got 5" of rain and the roof they built leaked. Or if it got down to 0F during the winter and they did not bother to insulate the head or seat. Or if they did not use cable supports or some other means of supporting the window, and it began to sag after a few years. Just a few things to think about / talk about with them.
