Any experience with Newtown-slocomb/Americas Window Authority?

I got a quote from them today:

10 Windows - Double Hung $7250

Argon
Double Pane
"Heat Mirror"
Insulated frame
Insulated Sashes
Installation/Capping
Lifetime Warranty
Dual locks

...

I just can't find out much about this company. They have been around for 56 years and they tout the warranty and the sales pitch was relentless, but so has the salespitch for our floors, doors, kitchen, driveway and everything else.

I got to jump on the window as well, so they took my 200lbs of weight but that won't sell me entirely..

Wachya think? Decent company? fair price?

If it is the slocomb that used to be in Wilmington, DE, they have certainly changed the pricing, WAY UP, but I hope the quality is up from what it used to be. A lifetime warranty means nothing if the company is gone in 5 yrs, which is what happend to some of my old slocomb customers. Consider Certainteed(BrynMawrII), no need to ask anyone about that company, been around for over 100 yrs, and with a quality reputation.

Not sure I understand "concept". If the house is special or you want to keep a certain look, then you want to use windows that keep that look. I often do a house where they want wood windows in the front for a colonial look, but want to keep down costs so the back gets vinyl. But if you want the best window to keep in heat/cool and a good price, why buy something that has no backing. And as I said, a lifetime warranty from a company with no track record, may be a short lifetime.

This is an old thread but i will chime in. Slocomb make a solid window, at least the 477 series and 177 are solid.
Slocomb does not use Heat Mirror.
Other high quality brands are Okna, Soft Lite, and Sunrise.

certainteed were a low quality/ flimsy window and i am surprised someone recommended them although that recommendation was 7 years old.

Other poor quality windows to avoid unless its a rental property are MI Windows. silverline/ american craftsman, alside excalibur, pella thermastar.
These are the common " cheap looking vinyl" that is poorly engineered and designed, and have very high air leakage numbers. They are also known to warp.
You wont get those issues with the higher end vinyl which actually look nice and have solid performance numbers.
