double hung windows

I just moved into a house with double hung windows that tilt out for cleaning. I was an idiot and didn't raise them before tilting and the shoes are down at the bottom. I can't get the windows to go back in properly and I'm not sure who manufactured them. Is there any way to get them back in correctly?

You'll need to use a flathead screwdrive to get under the pivot points and pull them up at least 6"s and even on each side. Some have a plastic piece that would have popped out when you tilted and some just set in with no clip. Either way make sure the open end on the pivot point is pointing straight up (you might need to use a flathead screwdriver to rotate), set the clips attached to the sash on these keeping the sash level. The clips on the sash should drop in the pivot point (snap the plastic piece back in if you have it). Tilt the window closed and check operation.
