I just moved into a house with double hung windows that tilt out for cleaning. I was an idiot and didn't raise them before tilting and the shoes are down at the bottom. I can't get the windows to go back in properly and I'm not sure who manufactured them. Is there any way to get them back in correctly?

I just installed interior french doors. The doors are level. When I went to attach the frame to the outside of the door, I discovered that it would not match up evenly to the door jamb at the top of the door opening in the wall. After doing some measuring, I discovered that the bottom part of the wall is narrower than the top part of the wall. In other words, the outside of the door frame fits perfectly with the bottom of the door jamb, but at the top it is about a 1/4 inch off (exactly the same as the difference in the width of the wall). The door is level sitting in the gap in the wall, but the wall is not plumb going all the way up. My question is simply how do I go about "fixing" this issue? I guess I could attach the frame and fill it with putty, but that's not exactly the option I was hoping for. How else can I deal with this while keeping my door level. thanks.
