Who sells replacement spindles for old lock sets and door knobs?

Hello, I desperately need to replace an old spindle from a Sargent Lock set on my door.

But its discontinued and there are no retailers selling such things any more.

Even worse, the single online site I found with every spindle imaginable refuses to sell to individuals, only to distributors.

But what am I going to do with 12 spindles? At most, I need 2.

Does anyone know any retailer carrying spindles anywhere in these united states?

Door spindle

Gee local hardware stores carry more than one type, including the obsolete ones. However you could probaby get one at Blaine Window hardware (they have door hardware too). They carry lots of discontinued hardware parts for doors and windows.

Try DEA bath. (www.deabath.com) I've found a lot of replacement things from there. Probably not worth the shipping for 2 spindles though. I'm not sure how old your set though.
