Question Question about changing a lockset

I have a door that I would like to put a new lockset on. The problem is the hole (the big one for the knob) is too small for the replacement lockset (SCHLAGE). Does anyone know of a way (trick) to center the hole saw over the hole. Is there something on the market that I can buy to center the hole saw or will I need to make something?
Thank You.

Which hole are you talking about. There are two holes. A big one, and a little one. The big one is where the door knob goes through the door, and the small one is where the lock goes. This hole goes into the door.

I will usually take a scrap of wood about 12" long (like a 1x4), clamp it onto the door with 2 clamps (above and below the hole), then drill a new hole through that scrap of wood which acts as a guide for the hole saw as it drills a new, larger hole through the door.

Hole

To add to XSleeper's instructions, it may be helpful to add a "crossed" set of marks on the scrap wood to locate the center of the hole before and after it is cut. Make the marks long enough to reach outside the perimeter of the hole.
