Question Busted Door Jamb

The nob on my service door from the house to the garage must have go stuck and my son gave it a couple shoulders. This caused the lock bolt to bust the door jamb.

What is the best and easiest way to fix this ?

thanks

It's best to replace the jamb on that side.

You can probably push/clamp the wood back in position and glue and brad nail it back together - won't be as secure as before.

Door Jamb

If you decide to replace, remove the door from the hinges. Remove the casing on both sides of the wall. Remove the frame(top and side jambs). Replace the damaged jamb and re-install in reverse order. Good Luck with your project.
