Master bath is TINY and the door opens into the room causing a space issue. Thinking about putting in a pocket door.
1. How to tell if the wall is weight bearing?
2. How difficult is this for a limited skills DIYer?
Is there anything else I should know about pocket doors in general?
Thanks.

Describe the location of the existing door opening and the type of house and we may be able to determine if this is a bearing wall. Why not consider reversing the swing of the door so that it is out of the room instead of in?

Pocket doors involve removing drywall & framing, rebuilding some framing. If it is a load bearing wall, a header must be fabricated. If you have limited DIY skills and knowledge, consider the above, rehinge the door.

If I rehinge, The door would bump into the Master bedroom entry door when both are opened.
We plan on gutting this bathroom in the next year or so and making it somewhat handicapped friendly. The size of the room limits what we can do but with several changes the sink and the toilet will be accessible, if we can do a pocket door.
Any creative suggestions?

Somewhat handicap friendly means an even bigger door. With a small room this may proe impossible. A pocket door requires a wall that is slightly longer than twice the width of the door. You will have difficulty siting the switch as well. Is there any possibility of moving the master bedroom door and then reversing the swing of the bathroom door?
