Hi, We just got new vinyl windows for our house. Our installer says they don't install the exterior aluminum cladding/trim on the top (semi-circle part) of the window, but only on the sill part for many reasons. He says it would look ugly with the slits. The metal wont bend very well. It would let in water because the slits cannot be caulked. Etc. Is this really true? The old trim is ugly and worn so I wanted it covered. Thanks, g00ber

house has westlock exterior doorknobs all keyed the same. Three doors with exterior in the dark brass, and the interior of the door knob in shiny brass (which matches the inside door knobs). First door knob has broken. We are not fixing it. However, big box stores say that the doorknobs are not made with one side brass shiny and one side antique brass. House was built in 1997-1998. Any ideas? Did they double their purchase to make this all match up inside the house? Trying to retain value in home and think it will look very different to have three exterior doors with a dark antique brass on the inside when every interior door has a shiny brass doorknob. Any suggestions? Did the big store tell me wrong? Thanks.
