This is an exterior refinishing, but I think this is still the right place for the question... I am painting the trim on the exterior of my house, and I have a large picture window badly in need of help. The old glazing was in terrible shape (missing sections, some drooping out, etc) and I have removed the majority of it and now have a void to fill between the glass and wood. I'm not sure if I should use caulk, which would probably be easier to squeeze into the gap, or use glaze and attempt to work that into the gap. The only times I have used window glaze has been with a complete replacement of the glass pane, on a standard double hung window. I'm shaky on how I would apply it in this situation. Any help, advice or experience is always welcome. Thanks!!

I purchased a new louvered slab door to replace an existing door. The door was delivered with beveled edges (I requested square edges but that is another story). When making the mortises for this door should the mortises be of uniform depth or should they be deeper on unbeveled edge and thus shallower on the beveled edge as if the edge were square. I am having trouble with the door binding against the hinge jam. I made the mortises as if the edge of the door was square, i.e., not beveled.
