Unhappy in glass mini blinds sliding glass door

I just installed my new sliding glass door with mini blinds in between the panes of glass. From Menards. Nailed it in, took off the paper that said "do not remove until door is installed" that cover the slide that opened and closed the mini blinds inside..
The door that slides, about 1/4 of the blinds were turned the wrong way, so they won't move, open or close. The other door had two or three blinds that were truned the wrong way. They will not work very good either, will move a little though.
The door cost me a bundle, I had a professional help me install it, I love the door, but it won't work the way it is.

Is there a trick to get these blinds back in place? I sure don't want to take out the 50 or 75 three inch shingle nails that is holding it in!!

Welcome to the forums. You won't get to the blinds, no matter what you take off, so let's see if we can help from outside the panes. I have had the same thing happen, but I have always been able to work both the opening slide and the rotating slide in tandem to get the entire blind to raise to the uppermost position, at which time the slats will self correct. The blinds should have come in a retracted position with a keeper to prevent early extension and subsequently your problem. Try working the two adjustments, one in each hand until you are able to correct it. Let us know how it goes, so we can drop back and punt if necessary.

I'm not familiar with the sliding door versions, but the standard/french door versions the blind is an assembly that can be removed and adjusted.

Can you put up some photos?

Good idea on the photos, as the ones I have installed are sealed units, but hopefully theirs is accessible.

Blinds

I had a similar problem with an exterior door with enclosed mini blinds. I turned the door over and tilted it into different positions and was able free up the entangled blinds. Good luck with your project.

it worked

Well...I had my son-in-law take the door out and shake it up a little and turn and tilt it. All the miniblinds went into place. Finally I found out some thing he was good at! Thanks wirepuller
