Can I paint Window Flashing?

I think it's aluminum or vinyl. It is white and we want it black. Is there a special primer or will a regular exterior primer work? TIA.

Exactly what are you referring to as the window flashing?

Both aluminum and vinyl can be painted with latex paint - add emulsa bond to the latex primer or first coat of latex paint if not using a primer. EB will help the coating to adhere better.

Smile Thank you

When I say flashing, I am referring to the material used to finish off the exterior of the window. The trim on the outside to hide the insulation etc. But I believe you answered my question. So thank you - I can't wait to get started.
