Anderson hinger patio door locking problem

Hello all,

We replaced the panels on an Anderson Hinged Frenchwood patio door today. The original doors were installed some time ago and the vinyl cladding on the bottom was pealing back and letting water in below the glass. Anderson rep came to the house, looked at them and replaced them 1/2 price even though they were past warranty.

So far so good.

The new panels, 2 fixed, passive and active were replaced using the old door hardware and Astragal.

Now the passive door doesn't lock properly when the active door is shut...as it used to do and as it's supposed to do. Clearly, some piece of the hardware on the active door is meant to push against some piece on the passive door and cause the door knob to be blocked.

Does anyone have any ideas what we're missing? I saw some hints that the mechanism was changed sometime in 2003, but otherwise haven't been able to find any information.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Did you install longer screws in the top hinge? If not, the door will sag, and could be causing the problem. Is the strike plate higher or lower than the latch? Or is it sitting too far in or out?
