Window install question
When 'they' do full window replacement, do 'they' usually restore the surrounding stucco (not synthetic type) or just leave it after the sealed install in the wall?
These are windows where the stucco is built up to the edge of the metal frames that protrude maybe 1/5".

Not sure who 'they' are, but when I do those windows, it depends on how much the stucco has to be disturbed. Not much good at stucco, so I may do minor repairs, but leave larger repairs to those better qualified. There is usually trim on the edge of the old window, and there may or may not be a nailing fin. The trim comes off to get out the old window, which, if you are careful, will not disturb the stucco.

"They" being whoever I would have do it, if I did. Still tossing it around.
These windows do have a nailing fin on them and no trim to speak of. The 1/5" protrusion in the post should've been 1.5" protrusion on the outside. The ext wall stucco is built-up right up to the edge of the frame.
I have a full fix & paint on the stucco planned and think it would be the right time to replace these, if I did decide to do that.
I was just wondering about it, whether or not an installer would look at it as a part of replacement. I would hate to have a lot of unplanned missing stucco for too long before the fix & paint.

As a window installer, I am not a stucco person. And I would consider a stucco person as a sub to finish off the stucco. You want things to be right when it is done, hidden leaks can become disastrous. If the installer is not also a stucco person, make sure one is available, thru him or you.

So, in other words, it's not something that the window installer would, in general, be obligated to provide - as part of the install?
Of course, I think I would feel more secure about my stucco guy doing the re-do around the windows as part of his end of the job. Even if just to maintain consistency.
