Window Style Question?
Does anyone know what kind of window this is. Its where there is a frame but only half of it is filled with the window at any given time. Its a vertical sliding window that slides along a track. Sorry for the bad explanation, best i can describe it.

The name you want is 'double hung window', but what is in the picture looks like a triple track storm window mounted on the inside instead of the outside, where it belongs.

Welcome to the forums! It appears to be a storm window which was applied, incorrectly, to the inside of a building. Is this the only window type in the structure? And, what type building is it?

The picture is taken from so far away, it's impossible to see exactly what it is. But it does look like a storm window- perhaps one that has been modified to fit a double hung that used to have a window air conditioner in the opening. But that's just a guess.

But there are three of them side by side, so I wonder about the original design of the window opening. Why was it so small, and why would they use storm windows as "windows", anyway.
Just waiting the required 180 stupid seconds.

The two windows on the right are 1 picture and the window on the left is another picture. These are windows in a deer blind (a expensive one). I liked the design idea, which is why I asked about it.

That answers why there in no opening at the top of the window. So it's a double hung triple track storm window, reverse mounted, with only one sash that can be raised to allow access to the bottom opening.

It reminded me of the old double hung windows that you see in attics- with only one sash, they simply slide up into a pocket in the wall.
