Just a note about an emergency job I had last week. The son of an old customer had his front door kicked in by a burglar. Took the door off at all 3 hinges, which had the factory 1" screws. The latch side was not damaged. Nearly all doors are shipped with 3" screws for securing the hinges into the house framing.........use them. And install long screws in the dealbolt latchplate, and USE THE DEADBOLT. He did not.

Good point on the dead bolt plate. Quite often I find the factory screws holding the plates with a $100 deadbolt (which may or may not be used). Good kick, and you're in.
